Questions are the Answers

Top level networkers are not ‘natural’ or ‘born’. Top level networking is a science - a learnable skill, and Questions are the Answers, gives you the techniques and shows you how to use them, how to measure and improve your progress and what to observe when dealing with people. | The Direct Marketing Business has evolved virtually overnight without fanfare or advertising and could eventually become the largest business system of them all. It’s success has been based on the referral-based distribution system and is driven almost entirely by the enthusiasm of its members. It is one of the most dynamic opportunities ever created by the mind of man, and Allan Pease has given everyone the key to unlock this system. QUESTIONS ARE THE ANSWERSHow may times have you heard someone say “She’s a natural” or “He’s a born salesman”, when referring to a top-level networker?

The number of seniors online has risen nearly 50% in the last four years bringing that North American number to over 9 million. The person wearing these comfortable shoes may happen to be 65+years-old but we certainly wouldn’t know it by their internet interests.
The number one internet use by 18-64 year olds is email. The number one internet use by 65+ year olds is email.
The number two most popular internet activity is using search engines. Are you sensing a trend? I’m not saying the same search terms are being entered by both groups.
How about the third most popular internet activity? When its time to play games online, we’re still neck and neck. Playing games online is nearly equal in both groups.
Age is obviously a state of mind, not a stage in time for this growing segment of internet users. According to Seniornet, many are experience web warriors. Meaning they have been using the internet for two-to-five years.
Seniors shop online, too. The senior group is often more likely to have discretionary income than their 40 year-old children.
According to independent surveys, nearly half of these customers, report researching and buying products online. That equates to five out of ten senior internet users buying products online compared to seven out of ten internet users who are ages 18-64.
This is a customer segment that any smart e-business owner, should keep in mind. The question: How easy are you making it for them to do business with you?
How Many? North American Senior Internet Audience has nearly 10 million active users.*
Why Visit? Group most uses internet for personal reasons.

Harteis International internet report

Consumer Internet usage in the United States is increasingly broad but still relatively shallow, according to a new report issued today by the Pew Internet and American Life Project.
Pew conducted the survey through a random telephone survey late last year. The results show that 88 percent of online Americans say the Internet plays a role in their lives, but two-thirds of those say it is only a minor role.
The report says of the many Internet users who switch between the offline and online worlds for activities, most still use the real world alternative rather than the online one.
For instance, the report states, Internet users buy movie tickets more often at the box office than buy them online. Further, when Internet users do a certain activity exclusively in one area, more will still do it exclusively offline than exclusively online.
Online banking and bill paying is gaining in popularity with consumers becoming more confident with online security. But the one activity that folks head online for more often than off, according to the report, is looking for maps and driving instructions.
"More and more people are going on the Internet to do more and more things, but the Internet hasn't yet replaced the old-fashioned way of doing things," report author Deborah Fallows said. "We have a timeline marching on here. In just a few years, the Internet has made a strong mark on everyday life. The Internet is still new. We certainly haven't reached a tipping point yet."
For instance, Fallows said, Americans are still more likely to get news, listen to music, pay bills and look up telephone numbers and addresses offline than online.
Internet "enthusiasts" constitute a third of the surveyed who say the Internet plays a major role in their lives. Fallows said many of them rely on the Internet more than offline sources to accomplish everyday tasks.
They are more likely to be online veterans with more than six years of experience, enjoy higher socioeconomic status and to have broadband connections.

Spam Could Threaten Business
E-mail scams like phishing and junk e-mail in general might cause some business executives to rethink business procedures involving corporate e-mail. The situation is getting so bad, said author and security expert Jeremy Poteet, that businesses will rethink using e-mail altogether.
"But it's not yet at that point because there are tools available to make filtering out junk mail palatable. They at least help take the edge off the spamming process," Poteet told TechNewsWorld.
Not all solution providers, however, agree with the view that spam will shut down business e-mail. According to market intelligence and advisory firm IDC, the Internet sent 5 billion e-mails per day and over 1.4 trillion e-mail messages per year in 1999. By 2000, the daily figure reached 10 billion. IDC predicts that by 2005, Internet users will send a staggering 35 billion e-mails daily.
"E-mail has become one of the most -- if not the most -- effective mediums for business communication, combining not only rapid communication but also the convenience of document transfer," said MX Logic's Chasin. "In short, e-mail offers businesses and their employees a powerful method of communication with benefits unlike any other medium available. For that reason alone, we believe it won't be dismissed quickly."
Rather than do the equivalent of throwing out the baby with the bathwater, Chasin believes that corporations have a strong incentive to use antispam technologies. A good antispam solution can return lost bandwidth, reduce overall costs on a company's messaging infrastructure, and increase employee productivity -- benefits that can positively affect the bottom line.
"At the end of the day, because e-mail has so many positive benefits and because so much has been invested in e-mail communication, enterprises are more likely to look for effective security solutions rather than throw up their hands and walk away," Chasin told TechNewsWorld.

If you can send a thousand e-mails with a click of the mouse, you can do the same with a phone call, if you're using the Internet as your telephone service.
A privately held technology company, based in Frederick, Maryland is trying to attack the problem of what it calls Spam over Internet Telephony, or Spit.
"It's a combination of telemarketing calls and e-mail spam in which a single 'caller' uses Internet technology to send thousands of voice messages simultaneously into VoIP mailboxes," Quovia Inc. explained in a statement announcing it had filed for a patent on technology to identify and block Spit.
"VoIP telephone systems are primarily being used by businesses and enterprises, and so there hasn't been a big target audience to make it worthwhile for VoIP spammers to start sending out VoIP Spam yet," said Pierce Reid, vice president of marketing for Quovia.
But some estimates say one-third of households (17.5 million) will have Internet Telephony by 2008.
"It's only a matter of time before the spammers see a critical mass," he added. Quovia said it believes "Spitters" could send a thousand telemarketing/spam-type Internet telephone calls a minute.

President Lincoln's Leadership
by Fred Harteis
Abraham Lincoln has always been an inspiration to me because of his humble beginning. He had a life of great adversity from beginning to end. He acted miraculously in his ability to learn, grow and become better with each adversity. President Lincoln failed forward his entire life. He had great courage which was a result of great faith and perseverance.
Most people who face but a few of the great struggles which President Lincoln faced would give up, wish for the best and live a life of quiet desperation. Lincoln did expect to learn from each experience and to become better, not bitter. The Civil War was very difficult for him with incompetent Generals, and such a great struggle for this young nation. God smiles when he would see Lincoln constantly pray and seek his counsel on great decisions. Thank God for such a great leader for the great country.
