Quixtar/Amway/IBO/ What is the distinction? Not all IBO's build their Quixtar affiliated independent business the same. Each IBO has the right to operate their independent business as they see fit. Some business owners concentrate on small personal retail customers, while others concentrate on small business sales, while a few others prefer corporate sales. Some business owners choose to operate business networks where their emphasis is developing owners along with internet retailing. The days of the Amway Sales type person knocking on someone’s door is becoming a thing of the past. IBO's associated with Quixtar have an emphasis quite different than those past Amway distributors. The diversity of companies (500+), the different independent business systems and the ability for the IBO to choose so many routes to developing their independent business gives each business owner now affiliated with Quixtar so many more options.

IBO’s cannot all be defined the same. Their business emphasis and approach can be different, their success can be different, even their business ethics can be different. It is no different than any other profession. Some run medium to large professional businesses, others run small family business.  That is why IBO’s encourage “due diligence”. Not just due diligence of Quixtar, but also and even more importantly, due diligence of the individual IBO and their business team building system.   That is really who the IBO does business with on a day to day basis, their business team and their team leaders. Quixtar for the most part on a day to day basis provides electronic support for product ordering and distribution through its corporate entities, Access Business Group and parent company Alticor. Business rules and product support are usually the only personal contact the majority of IBO’s have with Quixtar. It might be the rare occasion the IBO even has personal contact with anyone from Quixtar. That’s not good or bad, that is just the business relationship. Each IBO is independent and they power Quixtar as much as Quixtar powers and gives logistical support.   The IBO represents themselves and their individual business, and the Independent Business Owner has representation by the IBOAI, the Independent Business Owner Association International. This board is elected by IBO’s and is comprised of IBO’s. IBO’s know and are more familiar with what business owners do and the challenges they face and this board provides representation to all business owners. This is truly a group of individual independent business owners working interdependently with each other and corporately.
