ORGANIC FOODS AND NATUROPATHY

By: C. Edgar Sheaffer, VMD

Naturopathic physicians and holistic veterinarians work in tandem with each other.  Many times the holistic vet may be consulting for the client’s animal and the client may be helped by the naturopath.

Practitioners want to facilitate and enhance the healing in both the human patient and the animal patient.

Consumption of quality grass-fed organic foods is at the heart of the therapy for both the animal and human patient.  Andrea Sullivan, ND in her text A Path to Healing recommends,

“Eat as much as possible only foods that are organically grown.  Why is it necessary to eat organic fruits and vegetable?  For the mineral content.  Plants don’t make minerals and if they don’t get them in the soil the plant will not be rich in minerals.  Unfortunately, the current methods of farming have depleted the soil and therefore much of what we eat does not have the mineral nutrition required for good health.”

Nutrulite food suplements are organic in growth and preparation.
